Meet The Candidate

NICOLE DEVENCENZI

Nicole is an experienced prosecutor committed to protecting San Joaquin County. Throughout her career, she has handled the toughest cases, prosecuting violent crimes such as robberies, attempted murders, child abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Nicole has led the Delta Regional Auto Theft Task Force and the Sideshow Task Force, both multi-agency efforts aimed at reducing crimes that directly affect residents. Currently, she serves as the supervisor of the Post Conviction Unit, overseeing a team of experienced Deputy District Attorneys focused on maintaining murder convictions and defending life and long-term prison sentences. Her work spans decades, with cases dating back to 1968. Nicole has argued before the California Third District Court of Appeal and has a case pending before the California Supreme Court, demonstrating her dedication to justice at the highest levels of the court system.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Nicole graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a degree in Business Administration, emphasizing in Business Law, and with a minor in Economics. She then attended the McGeorge School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. She is a member of the Consuelo M. Callahan Inns of Court and was elected to serve as secretary for the San Joaquin County Attorney’s Association (union) from 2023 to 2025.

Nicole is the daughter of immigrants and the first in her family to attend college. She chose to raise her family in San Joaquin County. She is married to, Peter Devencenzi, a lifelong resident of San Joaquin County. He proposed to her on the family farm. They have two boys, ages four and two.
